CASTLE GARDIKI
The Byzantine castle of Gardiki is found to the south side of the island, near to the village Agios Matthaeos. It was built on 13th century. The castle was a octagonal building with powerful fortifications that protected many times the residents of the region. Nowadays, its walls are preserved in a very good situation. Also, in the the grounds of the Byzantine castle there are architectural members of ancient buildings.
In the region around from the castle exist olive groves that give to the area a unique beauty.
